I’m so excited to be teaming up with a great group of bloggers for our “Perfectly Imperfect Home Tours”. We have all been showing off our beautiful holiday homes tours, so we thought why not show off what our homes really look like “most” of the time.
With three kids it hard to keep the house looking picture perfect at all times. Everything is not always in the perfect spot BUT I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I named my post “Please Excuse the Mess, We’re Making Memories” because I’ve always loved that saying. Sometimes it’s nice to just ignore the mess and play trains on the floor with the boys. These are the memories they will remember. Their not going to remember the dirty dishes in the sink.
This is actually my second post I’ve written like this. After my Fall Home Tour I did a Fall Home Tour the Outtakes post. I think that post turned out pretty funny.
Here’s a little glance at my day with the boys.
Getting The Boys Ready for the Day
My 3 year old loves to dress himself now, but he likes to pick out some crazy outfits. He’s obsessed with wearing a bow tie and rain boots right now. But I do think he looks super cute in his crazy outfits.
My 2 year old on the other hand hates to get ready for the day. He usually stays in a diaper (and boots). But in our defense we are potty training him so it make it super easy to take the diaper off and running him to the potty.
Little bear loves his trains, and he loves crashing them into the floor…
Random bottles are a staple all over the house.
Living Room
Now on to the living room.
This is where the boys play most of the day. We have our TV here and the boys are always bringing the toys from the playroom in here. The top of my entertainment center can get pretty cluttered. It’s was only 9:00 and this is how it looks.
Just imagine how it looks at the end of the day. I’m so made I didn’t snap a picture of that.
This is my motto throughout the day. With three boys 6 and under I gotta “keep clam and carry on”.
My sweet little boys thought the bookcase needed a quick makeover.
I think it looks better here, don’t you? Gives it a little personality.
Ok, so everyday my 2 year old likes to rearrange all the decorative shells in the house. He hides them in the basket in our entertainment center. So at the end of the night I have to make him put all the shells back in their place.
Cheerios, goldfish, veggies sticks are the boys favorites. So they leave them around the house.
Laundry Room
Ok, here’s my dirty little secret. I have a pretty big size laundry room. I keep a lot of my crafting supplies in there. I usually do my craft projects on top of the washer and dryer. I’m going to be guest posting for Mod Podge Rocks on the 1st so I had to start getting my ideas ready.
This mess here is me getting ideas together for the project. I haven’t even started crafting yet. My poor husband see’s these messes all the time, thanks goodness he loves that I love to craft.
I can create some pretty big messes when I’m crafting. Don’t get me started when I’m using glitter…
Reading Nook
My reading nook is one of my favorite spots for the kids. It’s perfect for them to reach the books they want to read. But since they can reach the books they like to leave the books on the floor once their done, or move them to another spot.
The boys use poor Koda as a ladder to reach the books on top. I’m just just happy they like to look at the books. This is a mess I don’t mind cleaning up.
Playroom
I will finish off the tour with the playroom. I really wanted to create a post showing off how beautiful it looks and how everything it put together. But of course I just haven’t had time. So your going to see the mess first.
I wanted to create an area for the boys to play in, do craft projects and enjoy their time together. As you can see the boys spend a lot of time here.
Toys are EVERYWHERE! It looks like a toy explosion everyday. I love those large baskets because we can toss all the toys here at the end of the day.
And that train table, my boys LOVE it. It gets used all the time. I really want to give it a cute makeover soon.
the boys spend a lot of time together at the train table, especially the 2 and 3 year old. They build their train tracks, take them apart and build a new one. This was such a great area to put together for the boys.
As you can see my house can get pretty messy in a day. The kids have a lot of fun, we made some great memories together and some messes. being a mom is one of the greatest gifts, it can be hard at times but it’s the best feeling ever.
So I hope you can see that everything is not always so organized and picture perfect here, but it is our imperfectly perfect home. Don’t get me wrong my house is a mess not disgusting. Give me 20 minutes and I’m ready for a playdate
I think I might have to do a part 2 of this home tour. I still haven’t’ even showed the bedrooms or kitchen. I’ll keep you posted on a part 2!!
