Since I was in the whole Christmas ornament kick last year…
I thought these adorable snowman handprint ornaments I saw on Little Bit Funky would be a perfect addition to our collection.
It’s a great way to have the kids be apart of the decorating!!
Getting Started
I already had some extra plastic ornaments around the house which worked out perfect. I used plastic ornaments because I thought they would last longer then glass ornaments. Especially with all the kids I have running around this house.
I grabbed some white craft paint and a couple different colored sharpies I had. We were ready to get crafting!
Step 1 – Create Your Snowmen
I covered my sons hand with paint and gently had him warp his fingers around it. I did the same with my two year old and my baby. The baby was the hardest. After a couple attempts I finally got a full handprint!! Yay!
Quick Tip: If there were some bare spots on the snowman I just went back over it with the kids fingerprints. We wanted our snowman to be nice and full!
Step 2 – Finishing Touches
Once our paint dried for a couple hours, I made faces on the snowman for my two year old and baby.
My 4 year old was able to draw the faces on his snowman and he really did a great job. We even named each one of them after a family member.
I just love these ornaments! I’ve always loved a handprint craft.
This is one we can pull out every Christmas and just remember how small they once were. I think we found a new Christmas tradition! A handprint snowman ornament.
And don’t forget to add your child’s name and the year they made it to the bottom!!
